Gemma's Moio Travel Diary – Two Weeks in Zimbabwe

My time in Zimbabwe, surrounded by the vibrant people, culture, and environment, was so transformative. Every moment with the 25 women in our collective was filled with inspiration. I feel incredibly grateful for the time I spent and I'm excited to take you through this unforgettable journey.

MEETING THE 18 NEW TRAINEES

The most meaningful aspect of Moio, the very essence of its existence, is its vocational training program—which began with just one artisan! Being in Zimbabwe to witness the commencement of our largest cohort to date was incredible. This opportunity to engage directly with the artisans who embody Moio brought our mission to life in such a tangible way.

Designing Together

Typically, Moio’s design process navigates complex communication channels and spans idea exchanges across the globe. Having the opportunity to be hands-on during my visit facilitated a dynamic fusion of our creativity, enriching designs with this authentic, collaborative energy.

SAYING GOOD BYE

PIZZA PARTY

Leaving is always the hardest part—yet, as I departed, I felt an immense surge of energy for all the exciting developments ahead with Moio.
